| This Munich Re publication offers an examination of natural catastrophes including the extreme heat and drought from which many European countries suffered in the summer and the devastating wildfires that hit southern California in the Autumn. The December 26th earthquake in Iran which killed 40,000 people and destroyed most of the city of Bam is also covered. The issue also includes NatCatserviceŽ, a guide to the Munich Re database for natural catastrophes, as well as a trifold poster illustrating with graphs, charts and statistics the human and financial toll taken by the 2003 natural catastrophes.
